Travel with me to Cape Cod (I was there to attend a conference) to meet Kentie from The Flatus Show, Ken is one of my long-time pod-pals who I meet in person for the first time.
Ken agreed to drive to where I was staying on the Cape, which was in the home of one of my best friends in the entire world, Jon.
Hear Ken’s arrival to Jon’s palatial Cope Cod home bearing gifts.
Hear Jon and Ken debate the merits or dangers of too much podcasting, too much coffee, too much fear in the culture, and too many pills. We also discuss our respective diagnoses GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) for Ken and Agoraphobia for Joe G. (Jon is diagnosis-free at this point in time). Jon wants to stop the freaks. And what about those damn cell phones? Joe G. hates Jon and Jon hates Joe G. Hear Joe G. confront Jon as the conversation draws to a climatic close.
Keep listening until you hear, “This is the end…”

Nice job! Your recorder does a really nice job. Also, I am so glad to have met you Joe. Maybe I’ll vacation in Columbus sometime.
Later,
Pod-Pal,
Kentie

Ha ha, Kentie has a great voice too!
You guys are so clear when you speak, I envy that
Joe, I liked the other intro music better, it was so funny – it always put me in a good mood
I like the “Nessuno è perfetto” in the end though!
This entry was very nice and funny – keep ‘em coming!
(I will try podcastign too I promise! In Italian maybe
)

Kentie,
Glad you liked it. I didn’t use the whole conversation, but ended it on a funny note catching Jon in his usual hypocrisy. That’s why he’s so endearing.
You are always welcome to Columbus, and then you can meet Sir Zilla in person, too!
BTW, I heard your tribute to Jose – very nice!
Did you see Camilla’s comment? She likes your voice!
Camilla,
Thanks for the feedback about the intro. I chose the music because I wanted it to sound like an old American telenovela – overly dramatic, but ironic. OTH, I agree – the other music (old Italian disco music, BTW) was more upbeat. I might go back to that in the future. Well, anyway, “nessuno e’ perfetto!”.
I’m glad you listen and thanks for commenting!

I’ve always had a crush on Jim Morrison.
In defense of the net, it can shrink the world down… beats pony express, but is no substitute for 3d.

Susan,
Yes, I know that you’re a text person and you love your cell phones. You do sell them for a living, too!
BTW, I thought I had said that you had GAD – OOPS.
Thanks for listening, Susan!
paul,
Well, yes, Jim Morrison was a lovely man even when completely stoned.
And yes, the Net has indeed shrunk the world – one of the great things about it is that I can read Italian blogs and newspapers and watch Italian TV to help me with learning the language.
Plus, I can do this blog and podcast and meet all sorts of people including you!

Interesting podcast, Joe. It was fun to listen to all of you debating this subject and great to hear Jon’s voice again… Hi, Jon!
I thought I was the only person besides my husband who hated texting! I find it annoying when I get a text message, so I disabled the option on my cell service. Besides, it’s just another way for the cell phone companies to get more money out of you! They make enough so why should I help them make more?
So until next time, take care Joe.

Susan, i love that they all text me and send me up dates in the way its going in their lives.. its very good for me to hear from some that way, in fact cell companies have given that option as a freebee so that is how some can write without going over their time.

Back to basics and reality, if basics worked, we wouldn’t have cell phones, or they are the basics. remember when I laughed at them, fought my bosses on selling them, or making docs carry them. they won .. my department had more work, which created new and more jobs. technology came into the picture and wow… it offered brilliant things.. for all… so basics, when it was on the open range it was about guns, shovels, horses and plows.. etc..
The way people acknowledge each other well in 2008, its computers… myspace.com/artbybabz
it works go see.. smile

artzylady,
Text messaging is another way for the phone companies to charge for money. I don’t text because it’s just not my thing. I’d rather email than text. Cheaper and easier.
Thanks for listening!
Dharma,
Yeah, you’re right – new technology always brings new opportunities while taking over other things that people were used to using. I love how you have gotten into MySpace so much!
Thanks for “transferring” your message from email to here and thanks for listening!
susan,
OOPS, sorry Susan. I thought it were still doing sales for cells.
