bored beyond belief #32 – from Vegas cramps to LA memories

August 22, 2008

Listen here [14:09]

Music:
Suite 666 - “Vegas Heat”*

The trip to Las Vegas started with cramps (oh, Irritable Bowel Syndrome!)

Vegas: the fun introverts’ and agoraphobics’ hell

Met some Freaks from the Freaks Podcasting Network:

**Mila & Jayna don’t know Peterson Toscano very well…

Kentie from The Flatus Show joined the conversation.

On to Los Angeles

Teresa was her usual, typical self.

Missing LA and not missing it so much.

Should I change the name of the podcast?

What to do with the podcast now that the original purpose for it is done.

Favorite podcasts (personal & eclectic & informative):

  • The Flatus Show (Kentie and his Bible studies, Brenda Starr updates, & ukulele songs)
  • Hot Fossils & Rebel Matters (Ninja & Special K and their sound-scapes of museums, cultural events, & tech stuff)
  • Mandrake Society Radio (JW and his personal thoughts and interviews with performers)

Music:
Zox – “Towards Los Angeles”*

*from the Podsafe Music Network

Post-script:
Marvin is concerned (again)

  2. Joe G. Says:

I’m proud to have gotten through a visit to Las Vegas with only betting $4. :) I think I did this because I was so dazed by it all!

    Love you, too!!

  3. Bored Beyond Belief–name change? I don’t know. Isn’t it just truth in advertising?

btw, I can’t believe mila and jayna outed me as a really nice person. Damn!

  4. Joe G. Says:

“Truth” in advertising? But, what is this thing called “truth” anyway?

Mila & Jayna, when extolling your praises were like butter under a hot sun – melting all over. They adore you. God knows why, but they do.

You know I adore you, too? Right? :)

  5. artzylady Says:

Sounds like a fun trip except for the cramps of course. Yes, I know it well. Glad you got to visit with Theres and enjoyed seeing LA again. As for the title of this podcast, I think you should keep if it you like, as it’s yours after all. Until next time…

  6. Joe G. Says:

Yeah, I had a nice time, if exhausting by the end. :)

It was really great to see Teresa again and LA.

I’m getting more feedback and it’s about half and half now.

    We’ll see…

    Till next time, Judy!

change the name??? this one is so, well, fitting. maybe board beyond belief. or you can speak king james english and call it bard beyond belief. but really, the original name is just dang clever, wouldn’t change a thing. btw, I don’t miss L.A. either, just the Mexican food.

    i’m praying along with marvin.

    lower case paul

  8. Kentie Says:

First, use EQUALACTRIN when you travel to avoid IBS. I have IBS when I travel, so I start the day before flying and take it during the trip. It is a dream.
Second, Why change the podcast name. You’ve already established yourself. If people ‘judge a book for it’s cover’ too bad, you don’t need them.

    Kentie

  9. Joe G. Says:

    paul

I like your idea of speaking in Shakespearean English and changing the name to bard beyond belief. Ha!

And thank you for your prayers in the vein of Marvin!

    Kentie

I’ll have to check out Equalactin. Sounds perfect.

And thanks for your strong vote of confidence regarding the name. Perhaps the “brand” is already well established? :)

I’d love the interview Cissy Fudge Packer for the podcast before the elections???

  10. Alex. Resare Says:

If I didn’t know you before I heard about a podcast named bored beyond belief I would most definitely check it out. I think the name is brilliant.

  11. Joe G. Says:

    Alex,

Thank you for that ringing endorsement. It’s inspired me to play with the title by using other “b” adjectives in it for fun:

    Brilliant beyond belief
    bloated beyond belief
    bombastic beyond belief
    bummed beyond belief

    etc…

    :)

Thanks for listening and letting me know your thoughts!
