Don't worry about being cynical - I'm like you: it feels so compelling sometimes to be that way.

okay, sorry Joe... maybe just not quite ready for prime time. :)

I like that you are skeptical, a fine quality to possses and exercise. I try not to be cynical, I just can't help it sometimes.

Now pual, what kind of thing is that to write to a host that his singing voice implies he needs to keep his day job? ;)

I've only lived in Ohio for about 16 months so I'm not that informed about how it has been doing over the past few years. But, I get your point that the economy has been poor here for awhile...you can see it in the unemployment numbers and the "out-of-business" signs.

I try to be more skeptical than cynical although it does tend toward the cycnial end of things most times!

re the opening of your podcast... we'd all be better off if the fundies and their ilk would do more praying and less preying.

re your rendition of "Roller Coaster"... don't quit your day job.

re you not noticing anything different since the economy went haywire, well of course not, you live in Ohio,,, isn't that the rustbelt? Ohio has had a lousy economy for some time, no?

re the elections, I share your disgust for the process. I sometimes feel like I'm the only cynic left in america. I never met a politician I trusted, always seem to be two sides of the very same coin. They are always in someones pocket, it's just a question of whos.

I'm am I the only cynic

Judy,

I think you're the first commenter because others have called the brand-new bored beyond belief listener call-in line. :)

Actually, I did get 4 calls so far, but I still like the comments, too!

I appreciate your comments about the Democrats in the House & Senate and I agree that they are equally responsible (including Biden who was a main sponsor of this sort of legislation - see I keep my eyes open, too ;) ). I just like harping about George W., what can I say? He's now the lame duck so I'll stop now!

I'm glad you listened and commented!

I'

I can't believe I'm the first one to comment this time. Guess everyone has been caught up in the election. I have to say I agree about the hype of national elections, and tonight is the first time in a long time, my phone isn't ringing for some candidate or the other. Now, on the Bush administration, I agree he made many mistakes, but as far as the economy is concerned, since the Democrats took over the House two years ago, they are equally responsible for what hat taken place since then. They pressured the banks to give mortgages to people who could not afford them, which led to the all of the current problems in the market. So, there's a lot of blame to go around. BTW, I'm a registered Democrat but my eyes are wide open. Nice podcast anyway, Joe.
