bored beyond belief #32 – from Vegas cramps to LA memories

August 22, 2008

Listen here [14:09]

Music:
Suite 666 - “Vegas Heat”*

The trip to Las Vegas started with cramps (oh, Irritable Bowel Syndrome!)

Vegas: the fun introverts’ and agoraphobics’ hell

Met some Freaks from the Freaks Podcasting Network:

**Mila & Jayna don’t know Peterson Toscano very well…

Kentie from The Flatus Show joined the conversation.

On to Los Angeles

Teresa was her usual, typical self.

Missing LA and not missing it so much.

Should I change the name of the podcast?

What to do with the podcast now that the original purpose for it is done.

Favorite podcasts (personal & eclectic & informative):

  • The Flatus Show (Kentie and his Bible studies, Brenda Starr updates, & ukulele songs)
  • Hot Fossils & Rebel Matters (Ninja & Special K and their sound-scapes of museums, cultural events, & tech stuff)
  • Mandrake Society Radio (JW and his personal thoughts and interviews with performers)

Music:
Zox – “Towards Los Angeles”*

Post-script:
Marvin is concerned (again)

bored beyond belief #30 – A one-year blah, blah, blah review

July 30, 2008

Listen here

Nothing fancy: it’s been one year since my last confession, I mean, since I began this podcast.

I review the reasons for the existence of bored beyond belief.

So much has happened (kind of).

Leaving LA.

The “road trip” to the Midwest.

My reasons for keeping things more anonymous.

Meeting Sir Zilla and plans to go on vacation.

Updates on the Death Watch 2008 list – Jill continues to rack up points – Estelle Getty died :( .

Mothra music!

Love me.

bored beyond belief #23 – LA apocalypse with Teresa Ortega

April 28, 2008

Listen here.

Pizza Babe welcomes to the Freak Network bored beyond belief. Although I thought about asking to be a member before, Master Zilla insisted that the Pizza Babe add my podcast NOW.

Get to know my LA gal-pal Teresa from In Sequence. She recently got over the flu (my brother recently got over pneumonia) and she reminds me that I chronicled my own travails with the flu in bbb #16.

Teresa updates me about my old hometown LA. We’re back to recession levels of dumpster diving in LA. I also have memories of my old apartment there, which faced out onto an alley (as I previously mentioned in bbb #3). Oh, how I don’t miss my former land-lady who never returned my security deposit and is now using it to fix the old, decrepit and damaged balcony.

Traffic density is the worst that Teresa has ever seen in LA. Gas prices are up to $4 a gallon, too. Teresa’s girlfriend and her co-workers are hungrily looking at mass transit maps. Oh, what a joy to use mass transit in LA (like I used to do while living there). Imagine two hour commutes one way…

It’s the beginning of the LA apocalypse. Finally.

The second part of our conversation next time.

And thanks for all of your comments for bbb #22. Don’t be stiff-necked and comment again!

bored beyond belief #20 – blizzard bonanza babblings

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

My pal Alex from LA decided to call me to see how I’m surviving a blizzard somewhere in Midwest.

LA reminisces – the sun, the skies, the beach, the warmth, the bullet-proof vests while driving, the earthquakes, the fires in the mountains making the air acrid and stinging, cordoned off neighborhoods…

I don’t have a friggin shovel to get my Yaris out of a foot of snow!

also…
Daylight savings time is tonight…

I am not a whiner!

Your comments are always appreciated (except for Peterson, the Quake Stalker)

Hives are better with the shitload of histamines I’m on.

I think I love you all…?

Some music…
